Dunkin Donuts Commercial

Sometimes things work out in crazy ways. On my supermoto team I have a rider named Doni Wanat. Doni and I have been friends since my days of chasing the supercross series. He has always been “big boned” and now that he is older we have given him the nickname of Dunkin, as in Dunkin Donuts. I had just gotten back from a super moto race, and I got a call from my manager asking if I would be interested in doing a cameo in a national Dunkin Donuts commercial. At first, I thought Doni was setting me up. Get me all excited about the commercial and then have them all break into laughter. But, it was no joke! A week later I was in the suburbs of New Jersey with Big B getting my bike ready for the shoot. I didn’t want to tell anyone, but deep down I was pretty excited because I seriously love donuts. I made sure that they had 5 dozen donuts in my trailer because I wanted to make sure Big B ate until he got sick. If anyone is interested, Big B is a disappointing fat guy. He doesn’t even like donuts!! The idea behind the commercial was me teaching a lil kid to do a back flip off of a circus style ramp with a flaming hoop. They had told me that I wouldn’t be riding, so I used a loaner bike from a shop out in Newark. The funny part is when I got there they had me set to do a burn out and ride through a wooden fence. The burn out part was not a problem, but the fence was a lil tricky and almost went down while doing it! The bike was running pretty bad and they didn’t pre break the fence very well. Would have been my luck getting hurt riding through a fence.
The day went super smooth and I got to eat a ton of donuts. Also, Zach Braff the actor from Scrubs and Garden State, was the director of the commercial. He was really cool to work with, and an all around nice guy. It’s pretty crazy where motocross has taken me. I definitely trip out on it almost everyday. Keep an eye out this fall for my Dunkin Donuts commercial, and know that Big B was a big disappointment in the eating department.
