Race trailer fire
- Published 09/4/2007
If you didn’t see it on the news or hear about it on the radio, our brand new Hart and Huntington Tattoo/ Rockstar Energy drink trailer burned to the ground on its way to Salt Lake, Utah. What a nightmare!! The truck was on its way to the 3rd round of the AMA Super Moto series at miller motorsports when the truck driver noticed smoke from the back of the trailer. Someone had pulled up next to him to let him know that he had a fire. By the time he got to the shoulder of the highway the whole trailer was engulfed in flames. The only thing that was salvaged from the fire was the dually that was pulling the trailer.
We lost 7 race bikes, all of our parts, riding gear, high dollar golf cart, and the entire trailer. Even though everything that we had as a team burned to the ground, all 4 riders still got to Salt Lake City with their practice bikes and competed that weekend. I actually had one of my better races with a 9th place and the ret of the guys put in hard rides. I just want to say thanks to all the mechanics, riders, Kenny Watson, and Ed our truck driver for not getting burned to the ground with the trailer. We will be back in full swing with a new rig and bikes for the next round of racing!
