This year at Hart and Huntington Tattoo Company we have been reaching outside of the tattoo world into other areas such as supercross, freestyle motocross, and now CORR truck racing. Some of you may know what it is but for you that do not, it is the most exciting racing form out there. Its very aggressive and some compare it to motocross in trucks. There has also been some great motocrossers that have made the switch very successfully such as Brian Deegan, Jeremy McGrath, and Ricky Johnson.  Well I’m very pleased to say that I’m the next in line. This year I teamed up with PMG to launch the Hart and Huntington Tattoo CORR truck team.

Last weekend I had my 1st test in a pro spec truck, and I have to say it was one of the most insane things that I have ever done. It is just like motocross but in the safety of a fully enclosed race truck. We went out to Ryan Hughes’ facility in the desert in southern California. Its the same track that most of the teams practice on along with Deegan and McGrath.

We spent the weekend camped out in the desert with the plan of turning as many laps as possible. The weather got a little weird on us so we had a pretty small window on both days. I was a bit nervous before my 1st run because as always I put a lot of pressure on myself to do good.  No one really had high expectations since it was my 1st day in the truck, but I definitely wanted to tear it up. After a few little mechanical glitches with a lot of stop and go we finally got the truck moving forward. Then I got to really lay into it.

After about 10 laps I was running a pretty respectable lap time. It was pretty funny to see the eyebrows raise up on the crew that was out there that day. Im definitely far from running at the front of the pack, but for my 1st weekend I was pretty satisfied. I had a permanent grin on my face for about 4 days. It is one of the greatest things I have done in a long time.

So be on the look out for me in the Pro 2 class for the 2009 race season!!
